For many years Vidzu has worked with The Foundation for Barnes-Jewish Hospital creating video content for their annual Illumination Gala. This event raises money for cancer research at the Alvin J. Siteman Cancer Center and Washington University School of Medicine.
Over the last 7 years the gala has raised more than $12 million in donor funds; so we were ecstatic at the end of the night when celebrity guest Dana Carvey announced the event had raised over 3 million dollars in donations. A record breaking amount!
We are so thrilled to contribute to the success of this wonderful event and the work that it helps to fund. We’ll see you next year!
Nano Technology Research
We talked with Dr. Samuel Achilefu who is working with on nanotechnology and its applications not only in the location of cancer cells; but potentially their targeted destruction.
The SPORE grants are something that the average person will probably never have heard of, but within the medical research community they are a rare and singular honor. Dr. Daniel Link tells us about the impact of this prestigious grant.
In 2012 Vidzu interviewed Erica, a breast cancer survivor, for the Illumination Gala. She said in that interview she hoped to live until her 3 children graduated high school. We are happy to say in 2016 that she is staying healthy, and looking much further into the future.
